Discover Ensemble: a unique blend of 31 dwelling units on a mid-block parcel in Altadore. Bisected by a utility right-of-way, the design solution was to embrace the site’s undevelopable land and create a wide pedestrian corridor framed by two separate buildings. The resulting space creates visual interest and connectivity, allowing for lush landscaping from street to site. Ensemble aligns with the Municipal Development Plan’s compact growth goals, diversifying housing options and fostering a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere on 33 and 34 Avenue SW. Additional design considerations include transitional setbacks and stepbacks to reduce mass and maintain a thoughtful interface with neighbouring properties.
