We got to be part of a special workshop this Saturday at the RIVER FUND with the team at Kids Worldwide. They host monthly youth educational workshops at the center, and this past weekend we got to host one with Christina (Tina) McGeough from the Stop & Shop Nutrition Team. Tina led the workshop on healthy eating with a cultural lens and and how to effectively shop for healthy groceries. The kids made watermelon pizzas and drew all the foods they love! We are so thankful to Christina for lending her expertise, Stop & Shop for their donation of groceries for all the attendees to take home, Robbie K. Stuart and Jeavonna Coble for allowing us to join in on the special community they've built with all the kids, and the RIVER FUND for their hospitality!

Thank you to Marco Pimentel for having our Chief Customer Officer Jordan Schenck on the podcast. "There is not demand mass-market to pay the green-tax... There is a demand to pay for things that are cheaper than a commodity good. And that will always exist." Listen to the full episode at the link below.
In the latest episode of Someone Like You, I had the pleasure of chatting with Jordan Schenck of Flashfood, who is revolutionizing how we tackle the 40% food waste issue in grocery stores. Flashfood has built an innovative marketplace that bridges the gap between grocery stores and consumers, offering perfectly good food at a discount before it goes to waste. But it’s not just about the technology—it’s about finding that Goldilocks moment in marketing where the right message meets the right audience at the perfect time. If you're interested in sustainability, marketplace innovation, or marketing strategies that make a real impact, this episode is a must-listen. 🎧 #Podcast #Sustainability #FoodWaste #Marketplace #Marketing #Flashfood

Last weekend, we held our first food thrifting pop-up at Empress Vintage in #SanFrancisco, with build-your-own produce boxes provided by Lucky Supermarkets 🍏 🌽 🍊 🥕 🍅 🥒 100 people lined the block before the party even started, and cleaned us out of produce in the first hour. Safe to say food thrifting is just getting started! Good tunes, good finds, and good food. See you at the next one! 👀

Today, we’re excited to announce a partnership with Earth Fare, our first grocery partner in the southeast and a fantastic new addition to Flashfood's growing roster of independent grocers. Earth Fare, helmed by Mitch Orland, is the original specialty grocer and beloved by their communities across the southeast United States. We kicked off the festivities this morning at their flagship location in Asheville, North Carolina and will expand to additional stores throughout the month. We are thrilled to be part of Earth Fare’s efforts to reduce their food waste, and are proud to offer their shoppers great prices on their Earth Fare favorites. Stay tuned for more!
