Ken received a ‘wafer’ check valve from the warehouse. He was checking the spring tension on the dual flappers when he noticed the one flapper was not returning to the closed position. He rotated the valve a quarter turn so the flapper pin was in the vertical position and noticed the flapper would close in this position. These check valves function in a certain orientation and positions as per the manufacturer. We raised this great catch by Ken to Suncor to investigate further.
