The ultimate cheat sheet on decluttering your digital calendar, by our organization and time management expert, Jésabel DC founder of The Lifestyle Lab ⤵️ 1. How far in advance do you recommend planning out your calendar? ⏩ I have my clients do a weekly planning session where they sit down and plan their week ahead. But when it comes to putting long-term commitments like events, appointments and travel dates, I recommend putting those in your calendar as soon as you know about them. 2. How do you integrate your calendar with your to-do list? 📋 The secret to being in control of your time is by creating a time/task ecosystem. Here’s how you do it: 👀 View your calendar and your to-do list side by side. 🗂 Create different calendars for the different sections of your life, and separate your to-do list using the same categories. (Mine are Work, Admin, Social and Personal) ⏰ When planning out your day, look at the tasks you have in each category and create batch time blocks to work on similar tasks at the same time. 🖼 Add a photo at the top of your to-do list to make it more playful! 3. How do you keep track of things like birthdays, garbage pick-up, travel dates, etc.? 🎂 I use Notes to keep track of things that aren’t necessarily events, but that I still need to be aware of. Think: birthdays, bill payments, travel dates, trash nights, your period, etc. The way I do this is by adding the "Note" at the top of my calendar (with an emoji, ofc!) Here’s my process: • I create an all-day event • Change it to my Notes calendar • Add an emoji + title (in this case, it’s for a birthday) • Press save! 4. How do you add custom colors into your calendar? 🌈 You can make a cute color palette using Google Calendar’s default colors, but if you want to fully personalize it, here’s what you do: • Click on the three dots [ … ] next to your calendar • Click on + Enter your hex code • Save! 5. Where can I learn how to organize my calendar like this? 👀 It’s all step-by-step in The Life Planner Class! I will teach you the art of time blocking, so you can save 40 hours every month (yes, you read that right—40 hours). I’ll also help you find your perfect time-management system and how to plan your calendar based on the season—or module—of life you find yourself in. There’s much more in the course, but I won’t spoil it for you.
