Organizations and communities are finding that hiring outside consultants to check off the “consultation” box has not led to lasting resolutions for resource development, community planning and regulatory change. For government and industry, one-size-fits-all consultation merely kicks the can up the road—and we are now seeing it rolling back at us, as a heavy barrel.
