Thanks to the incredible folks at Cole-Munro Foods Group Inc. for their warm hospitality last week as we tested aquaculture applications of our Aqua2 AI-powered underwater robot. Our splash-and-go robot completed surveys of several fish pens, collecting crucial data for monitoring fish health, assessing net pen integrity, and inspecting other production infrastructure.   The important work of the Cole Munro team is vital for providing sustainable nutrition to Canadians and ensuring the responsible development of aquaculture in Canada. 🚀 An update on Independent Robotics! 🤖 We're proud of the impactful work our portfolio companies are doing, and today, we put the spotlight on Montreal-based Independent Robotics (IR). Specializing in easy-to-operate autonomous surface and underwater technologies for complex tasks in challenging environments, IR developed the Aqua2, an autonomous robot submersible. Their innovation lies in developing cost-effective solutions that utilize cutting-edge technologies like AI, machine learning, neural networks, and visual processing. IR has showcased and demo'ed their Aqua2 at prestigious events: CANSEC 2024 in Ottawa, Oceanology International in London, McGill Robotics, the 21st Annual Marine Field Trials at McGill University in Barbados, and others, also gaining well-deserved attention from the Quebec press (https://bit.ly/3xgGE3f).
