Lookout offers several different alternative treatment therapies for people looking to make different choices regarding their substance use and provides additional access points to healthcare. Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT), Injectable Opioid Agonist Treatment (iOAT) and the Fentanyl Patch Program are all clinical programs that aim to improve the health of the person by reducing harm, high, cravings and withdrawal, and reducing the risk through a non-toxic drug supply.

About us
Lookout Housing and Health Society is a charitable organization and social safety net that provides housing and a range of support services to people in Metro Vancouver communities. We help adults with low or no income who have few, if any, housing or support options. Because the people we serve have challenges meeting basic needs and goals, we place minimal barriers between them and our services. Since 1971, we have offered a range of services and housing 24/7 to adult men and women who are destitute and require assistance. There are an estimated 3,700 individuals homeless in Metro Vancouver. We believe that helping people help themselves is essential in addressing homelessness and all the issues that surround it. Securing appropriate housing is the first and most essential step in achieving responsible independence for individuals. We house more than 1,200 people every night in shelters and residences and operate within 34 buildings across the Lower Mainland. With 500 employees, we are among the province's largest non-profits and, unfortunately, continue to grow larger because of the increased demand for our services. We believe homelessness can be solved with everyone's help and the first step towards that goal is understanding homelessness. Overdose Prevention Sites and Supervised Consumption Sites are health programs that provide a safe space for community members to use substances. These sites are witnessed by trained staff to ensure immediate intervention in the event of an adverse reaction or overdose. Staff also provide education and safe supplies to support people in making different choices to maintain their health and create connections. Connecting through building trust and rapport allows staff to support people who choose to make safer choices or get connected to alternative treatments, detox or other resources such as physical or mental health services. When a person has not been using drugs and then uses them again, they are at a far greater risk of overdose death. Help reduce the stigma and start talking about all the ways to stay safe including Naloxone. It might just save a life.

The Lookout North Surrey medical clinic serves is for people without a family doctor or access to other medical services.
