Introducing Manitoba Immigrant Employment Council Member - Mackenzie Pearson currently works as a Recruitment Specialist at Maple Leaf Foods Brandon. Before joining Maple Leaf in 2023 she was working as a recruitment officer in Municipal Government. Combining her experience from 2 vastly different industries has provided the experience and exposure to different aspects of recruitment, both foreign and domestic. Her current involvement in newcomer onboarding and settlement at Maple Leaf Foods has provided valuable insight to the challenges and benefits that employees face. I am joining IEC to share my experiences with immigration and recruitment, as well as to continuously work towards attracting and retaining newcomers in order to promote the benefits of a diverse workforce.
