Bruce Marchant celebrated the completion of 60 years in the sporting goods industry on October 31st, 2023. In 1963, Bruce started his sporting goods retail career by joining Lions Sports, a family-owned store in Scarborough. He then went on to create and build his own institutional sporting goods and apparel company; Marchant’s School Sport Limited was born in 1975. Together with his wife Mary, who joined in the 1970s….. Bruce grew Marchant’s into a leading sporting goods supplier, that reached across Ontario and grew to over 50 employees today. He established a reputation for trustworthiness and service, nurturing lifelong relationships in the education sector. While Bruce looks back fondly on the early days of personal school visits, he embraces e-commerce and the future under Darryl's leadership. As Bruce enters retirement, Marchant's remains committed to his vision - providing athletes of all ages with superior products at affordable prices. We congratulate Bruce on a remarkably impactful 60-year career. Though he will be missed, his pioneering spirit and work ethic will continue to drive Marchant's School Sport into the future. Happy retirement, Bruce! #Marchants #BruceMarchant #Retirement
