    Our new Sunburst Mineral SPF that we can't seem to keep in stock has also been getting rave reviews in the press. Love this piece especially - "One reviewer shared that this is the best sunscreen they’ve ever tried, noting that they go out “without wearing any makeup” because this has a “blurring effect” that makes them “feel so confident.” Another shopper said they’re “so impressed with all Blume products.” They love that this melts “right into skin without leaving any white cast” while still leaving behind “a dewy glow.” It was important to our team to create Mineral SPF 50 that was formulated specially for acne-prone skin, and Sunburst is all of that and more. https://lnkd.in/gJfysG6r

    The Blume team launched our first suncare innovation 2 weeks ago.. and I can't believe the results. We launched exclusively at Sephora and Blume.com & in just two weeks, we are already 95% sold out! 👏 (Thankfully we placed a chase PO right after the first production run.) I'm very proud of the uniqueness of our formula. Sunburst is a Mineral SPF 50 that blends in sheer and fades dark spots while protecting skin from UVA / UVB rays. Our SPF is specially formulated for acne prone skin and has soothing ingredients like Allantoin & Bisabolol, while hydrating skin and providing a perfect base for make up. We worked on this SPF formula for 3+ years and launching an SPF in Canada is a WILD ride. So so proud of our small but mighty team & so grateful for our community that continues to show up for Blume! 🌟 A huge thank you to our Sephora team for believing in Blume and supporting our indie brand.     In the past few weeks, we've been asked a lot about marketing strategies around acquiring gen Z / gen Alpha customers. With the recent news about 10 year olds in Sephora purchasing complex skincare routines, we've received countless emails and messages asking our thoughts on this. For Bunny & I as co-founders, we used harsh products for our acne growing up, and tried everything under the sun. This led to using products that were way too harsh for us that left us with scarring and damage. Blume was created to support young people through this time to avoid the experiences we had. At Blume, we created every aspect of our brand, messaging and products to serve a younger demographic as they first experience acne, and start using personal care products - but our mission goes far beyond marketing. We are not targeting teens with marketing to make them feel they need skincare products. We focus on education and we're building a brand that serves the needs of an acne prone customer, of all ages. Our formulations are clean, gentle and formulated for sensitive skin and affordable. Our mission is woven throughout our products. For example, we created Blume Buds - fun flower shaped acne patches that are biodegradable, to normalize acne and change the experience for teens, and also adults! Acne for most of us is a dreaded experience that can affect our self confidence. Now our customers rock their Blume Buds to the gym, movies, airport, mall and on Zoom calls! My favourite is walking into our retailers and seeing staff wearing them to work regularly :) 2 weeks ago, we had a parent send us a testimonial of her 11 year old daughter getting off of oral antibiotics [for acne] thanks to Blume's Meltdown Oil. Brands like Blume are uniquely positioned to meet the evolving needs of this demographic. Our brand isn't merely about marketing skincare products to teenagers; it's about education, empowerment, and providing effective solutions for acne-prone skin, regardless of age, fostering self-confidence.

    Everyone is talking about teens at Sephora. This takes me back to the very reason why we founded Blume. Growing up, Bunny & I constantly faced unrealistic beauty standards set by the media and various brands, which were more than just challenging – they were detrimental. Fast forward to today, and it seems the pressure has only intensified for the younger generation. It's disheartening to see teens preoccupied with anti-aging and resorting to measures like botox at increasingly younger ages. This isn't just a beauty trend; it's a reflection of the immense pressure our society places on youth and appearance. This is exactly why Blume exists! We're here to offer an alternative, to stand against these unrealistic expectations and to promote a healthier, more positive self-image. Blume uses gentle plant based ingredients that are effective and we never photoshop images. We consistently work with influencers that promote a healthy self image and champion REAL skin over PERFECT skin.
