The Canada-Africa Youth Education Forum (CAYEF) is a global forum organized by BT Global Access. The purpose of this forum is to engage in discussions regarding the future of international recruitment, student mobility, and educational cooperation between Canada and Africa.   At a time when our country is reflecting on its long-term education strategies, this forum provides a unique platform to showcase the perspectives of sending countries and amplify the voices of youth and international students, placing them at the forefront of Canada’s national dialogue on the future of international education and student mobility. More than 250 delegates from Canada, the United States, and 10 other countries will be participating in this event, which will take place in Toronto, Canada, from July 25 and 26, 2024, at the prestigious @deltatoronto . We are also honoured to have Ministers of education and high-level delegates from various African countries attending, along with international organizations, higher education professionals, international students, agents, and civil society groups from both Canada and Africa. Merrick Prep took part in the 8AAT AAT First Annual Entry Level Robotics Competition with the #MerrickPrep Team consisting of Rell, Lucca, Jaden, Sherry, Jiho, and Sami. The team had a fantastic time collaborating with fellow students to meet the competition's demands. They went above and beyond by creatively adjusting the robot's code to ensure high performance when accomplishing the required tasks. The 2024 #MerrickPrep end-of-year student trip to Christie Lake was a HUGE success! Everyone enjoyed the experience and took advantage of the tranquility of this beautiful place. Getting away from MPS for a few days to ‘re-set’ and gain a different perspective before the final lap and home stretch of the end of the school year is a must! The students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in #nature, enjoying activities like hiking, canoeing, teamwork and campfire gatherings under the starry night sky. Bonds were strengthened as classmates shared stories, laughter, and marshmallows. This getaway not only provided a chance for relaxation but also a space for personal growth and reflection. As the trip came to an end, the students returned to #merrickprep with renewed energy and enthusiasm, ready to conquer the challenges that awaited them in the remaining school year.
