Our Newest Portfolio Manager, Rebecca Teltscher, was featured in the Globe today. The article discusses her background and how her past experiences affected her relationship with money and investing.
Rebecca Teltscher, CFA, portfolio manager at Newhaven Asset Management Inc. in Toronto, still owns the first stock she bought in 2011, Dollarama L.P. She was inspired to buy the stock indirectly by her mom, who complained all the little discount stores she frequented were turning into Dollaramas. “It sounded like a good investment idea to me. ... Dollarama shares have done well since then. The stock pick also helped me get my first portfolio manager job in Toronto in 2013. Ryan Bushell, who hired me at that firm, is now president of Newhaven, where I work today. So, Dollarama has been good to me in more ways than one.”
