Do you remember, or perhaps were unfortunate to experience, the 'trust fall' exercise? Trust Beyond Physical Acts: Trust is more than just catching someone when they fall. Using the trust fall as a metaphor, catching the person is a literal demonstration of trust, but true trust goes beyond this physical act. Showing Up for Each Other: Trust involves being consistently present and reliable. It means showing up for others in need and demonstrating dependability over time. Believing in Each Other: Trust requires mutual belief in each other's abilities, intentions, and integrity. It's about having faith in others and their decisions, actions, and character. Building Bonds: Trust helps build strong, resilient relationships. These bonds are robust enough to withstand challenges and difficulties, like a supportive network that can catch someone in a metaphorical fall. In professional settings, trust is not just a nice-to-have, it's a necessity. It's the foundation that fosters collaboration, innovation, and a positive working environment. It's what allows colleagues to rely on each other and work together effectively, making each individual's contribution valuable. On a larger scale, trust is the glue that holds communities and societies together. It's what allows for the creation of safe, supportive, and connected environments. Each individual's trust contributes to the collective strength and resilience of the community, empowering them to make a difference. In Summary The trust fall is a metaphor to emphasize that true trust is about more than just a single act. It's about a sustained commitment to being there for each other, fostering belief in one another, and creating strong, enduring bonds that help individuals and groups navigate challenges together. #Collaboration #RelationshipBuilding #Trust #Productivity #TeamTrust

We help leaders remove friction so their teams thrive and they have time to achieve their goals. #ElevatingBehaviour,NotTickingBoxes.

We had a blast last week with Peregrine General Pest Control Inc. during their #TeamRetreat at our facility, Red Lodge Retreat Centre. Nicholas Holland has a growing team, and safety is a top priority in their day-to-day work. We customized a program that involved them getting to know each other, building trust, and recognizing ways they can support the team's success. This team initiative was a hit: 🚀 MISSION TO MARS—"Imagine being part of an elite team selected to journey to Mars, tasked with the groundbreaking mission of exploring new and extraordinary rocks." This strategic thinking and problem-solving initiative requires the team to improve their ability to complete a task. Success lies in understanding how to use the abilities and resources within the team to meet challenging targets and objectives. As the Peregrine team began this challenge, there was lots of laughter and curiosity. As they faced some difficulties, they experienced frustration, disengagement, and ego. Through persistence, commitment, and leadership, they began to experience success. It was incredible to watch the team dynamics shift at that point into focus, determination, and engagement. Yes, they had to start over a few times, figure out how to mobilize their resources best and manage interpersonal dynamics, but hey, this is no different from a regular day at work! The post-session conversation was inspiring as they explored: ➡️ What success looks like for their team ➡️ How they manage adversity ➡️ The importance of every individual's role Reach out today to book your #TeamRetreat at Red Lodge Retreat Centre; where teams slow down to speed up. https://lnkd.in/gcHun2_x #RedLodgeRetreats #SlowDowntoSpeedUp #TeamBuilding #Trust #TeamEffectiveness

🌟 Connection Alert 🌟from our President and CEO, Tara-Lee Goerlitz As a business owner, #networking and building #businessConnections are incredibly important. These trusted colleagues are an ongoing source of inspiration, support, and accountability. Once in a while, a connection surprises you in a way you don't expect. That was my experience last Friday when I jumped on a Zoom call with the incredible Pauline Perreault. Even though we are both from Alberta, I travelled to Quebec to meet Pauline at the Actionable.co Summit last month, where we initially bonded over our shared appreciation for impact-focused #LeadershipDevelopment. On last week's call, after sharing a bit about ourselves and our businesses, we uncovered a shared love of #ExperientialEducation and #PersonalDevelopment. When Pauline asked if I knew a company called Peak Potentials, I knew our connection was much deeper than I initially realized! For anyone who has heard the story of how NexLevel began, you have likely heard me share about #WarriorTrainingCamp—the highly experiential retreat I attended in August 2004 with my Mom, brother, and future business partners. This program is not only the reason my business exists today but also a significant milestone on my journey of uncovering who I am and what I am truly capable of. Once we uncovered this unique shared experience, Pauline and I took way more time than we had scheduled in the calendar. We had an engaging and reflective conversation about our leadership journeys as we became aware of and strengthened our mindset, emotional health and physical capabilities. I am forever grateful for the lessons, learnings, and insights from #EnlightenedWarriorTrainingCamp. It was a transformative experience, and my surprise connection with a fellow Warrior was a welcomed gift - AHO! 🔥 Any other Warriors in my network? ⚡ If you have had a similar life-altering development experience, I'd love to hear about it in the comments! #LeadershipSkills #PersonalDevelopment #SelfAwareness #ExperientialLearning

Changing Behaviour, not Ticking Boxes! And we can prove it with real data to show client transformation. I recently ran a client workshop titled "Time Mastery - Getting the right things done in less time." After Discovery with the leaders, we identified two themes where a shift in behaviour would directly impact their strategic goals: 1️⃣ Prioritization 2️⃣ Asking for Help Our content was intentionally designed to achieve these outcomes and at the end of the session, each participant made a personal commitment to improving one laughably small habit that would positively impact their success. ⭐ Instead of jumping into my email at the start of my day, I will take five minutes to identify the top 3 things I will do today that will directly impact my most important goal. ⭐ When I face a problem I can't solve quickly, instead of spending more time trying to figure it out on my own, I will reach out to my team and work together to find the best solution. The reality is that change is hard and research shows that even the most well intentioned learners will struggle to apply new insights in their daily routine. NexLevel's habit builder closes the gap between learning and application. 🎖️ As you can see, after only 21 days, participants self reported an overall improvement of 32.8%, with those who selected "Asking for Help" experiencing an improvement of 50%! What's really cool is this participant reflection comment, "I know I have really mastered this and do not hesitate to request help when needed, and I have overcome the hesitation I used have." I get super excited when I see people actually applying learning and insights - this is where real impact happens. Reach out if you'd like to learn more about activating measurable behaviour change within your organization or with your clients. https://lnkd.in/gFR2hhHR #MeasurableChange #OrganizationalHealth #TeamCohesion #BehaviourChange

Leaders, how often to give thought to the Intent-Impact Gap when communicating?

View profile for Tara-Lee Goerlitz, graphic

We help leaders remove friction so their teams thrive and they have time to achieve their goals. #ElevatingBehaviour,NotTickingBoxes.

🌟 Bridging the Intent-Impact Gap in Communication 🌟 In leadership and everyday interactions, effective communication is key. Yet, even with the best intentions, our words and actions can sometimes miss the mark, leading to misunderstandings and unintended consequences. This disconnect is known as the intent-impact gap. 🔍 What is the Intent-Impact Gap? The intent-impact gap occurs when the message we intend to convey is not the message that is received. This gap can result from various factors, including tone, body language, cultural differences, and personal perceptions. 💡 Why Does It Matter? Trust and Relationships: Miscommunications can erode trust and strain relationships. Team Dynamics: Clear, effective communication is crucial for collaboration and team cohesion. Productivity and Morale: Misunderstandings can lead to frustration and decreased morale, impacting overall productivity. 🔧 How to Bridge the Gap: Seek Feedback: Regularly ask for feedback to ensure your message is understood as intended. Active Listening: Truly listen to understand, not just to respond. This helps in clarifying any misinterpretations. Clarify Intentions: Be explicit about your intentions, especially in written communication where tone can be ambiguous. Cultural Awareness: Be mindful of cultural differences that may influence how your message is perceived. Reflect and Adapt: Reflect on past communications and be willing to adapt your approach based on what you learn. Effective communication is a continuous journey. By being mindful of the intent-impact gap, we can improve our interactions, build stronger relationships, and lead more effectively. What strategies do you use to ensure your communication is received as intended? Share your thoughts below! 👇 #Leadership #Communication #IntentImpactGap #EffectiveCommunication #Teamwork #LeadershipDevelopment

Spring is here and so is the opportunity to book your #TeamRetreat at NexLevel's facility, @RedLodgeRetreatCentre. We had a blast last week with this team from @Keyera. Their daily demands are high and a strong foundation of trust and high performance are vital to keeping themselves, and others, safe on the job. During Discovery, we uncovered they were looking for a "fun and challenging team event" where they could get to know each other better and enhance their teamwork skills! This team initiative was one of their favourites: 👽 KEYPUNCH - "The earth is being invaded by aliens and your team has been assembled to save our planet! You must enter the correct code in the control room to activate the force shield." This strategic thinking and problem solving activity required the team to increasingly improve their ability to complete a task. Success lies in understanding how to use the abilities and resources within the team to meet challenging targets and objectives. The difference between a cheesy team building game and a valuable experiential learning initiative is in the quality of facilitation. As the team laughed their way through this challenge, they were tasked to be curious about how they were showing up individually, and as a team. While having fun away from their day-to-day, they had opportunities to identify changes they can make to positiviely influence team success. This high performing team of professionals learned about: ➡️ The importance of planning and role clarity. ➡️ The difference between ineffective and effective communication. ➡️ Making mistakes, debriefing, and using their learnings to improve. Does this sound intriguing? June is a perfect time to come together as a team before summer begins. Book your #TeamRetreat today. https://lnkd.in/gQvPxXw4 #RedLodgeRetreats #SlowDowntoSpeedUp #TeamBuilding #Trust #TeamEffectiveness
