Happy International Women in Engineering Day! Plan Group is home to many amazing women engineering professionals, such as Mimi Charron, our Program Manager in the Technology division. To celebrate this important day, we would like to spotlight Mimi by sharing her story and the impact she has made during her time at Plan Group. Mimi had plans on becoming a doctor, but in grade 12, her perspective shifted after a compelling presentation on Women in Science and Engineering. Years later, she embarked on a journey into engineering, dreaming of bringing her ideas to life. Fast forward to 2021, when Mimi joined #TeamPlanGroup and became Design Manager for our Technology team! As she advanced in her career, she took on her current role as Program Manager for our technology team. Even though Mimi did not go into the healthcare industry, she said, “working at Plan Group was the medium I was looking for to contribute to healthcare.” Mimi has contributed to many advanced projects, such as the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL. Her expertise spans structured cabling, system integrations, AutoCAD, and simulation software, just to name a few. Due to her continuous hard work, she has been recognized for her achievements by being named a finalist for the Emerging Leader Award at the 2024 Women’s Infrastructure Network Awards! With over 5 years of experience, Mimi has gained valuable knowledge and made significant contributions – and she will only continue to do great work!
