RaceRocks is honoured and thrilled to share an update regarding the launch of Kishkayhta, our paid co-op, internship, and new graduate program. This program provides Indigenous learners with hands-on work experience in technology, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in the industry. Kiefer Hay shared the following thoughts: “To me, Kishkayhta means that when one door closed, another one opened in the most unexpected way.” We look forward to sharing more on his journey with Kishkayhta in the coming weeks. #RaceRocks #Kishkayhta #IndigenousStudentProgram

Thank you Venture for Canada for the spotlight!
🧡 National Indigenous History Month is celebrated every June to honour the history, heritage, and diversity of Indigenous peoples in the country. The month-long observance provides an opportunity for all Canadians to learn about and recognize the significant contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples to the nation's history and culture. 🖤 As we celebrate the culture and contributions to our society, this month is also a moment of mourning and acknowledgment of our history. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge past injustices, such as the impacts of residential schools, and raise awareness about the historical and ongoing challenges faced by Indigenous communities, including issues related to land rights, cultural preservation, and social and economic inequalities. Our commitment at Venture for Canada is to promote entrepreneurial skills and support businesses from underrepresented backgrounds so they can succeed in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and beyond. Here, we spotlight five Indigenous-owned businesses within the VFC community that are making significant impacts in 2024. These businesses embody the innovation, determination, and community spirit that characterize Canada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem: ➡️ the yukon soaps company ➡️ RaceRocks ➡️ Spinning Forward ➡️ Craft Council of NL 💛 Let's take this opportunity to educate ourselves and support Indigenous-owned businesses year-round. Together, we can acknowledge the past and build a more inclusive future and equitable society.
