This technique modifies a patient's T-cells to attack cancer cells more effectively, showing exceptional promise in blood cancers. However, challenges persist in targeting cancer cells while sparing healthy ones. The primary challenge lies in identifying and targeting antigens unique to cancer cells. Traditional CAR T-cell therapies often target antigens present on healthy cells, leading to off-target effects and potential damage. 🔬 Researchers have developed innovative strategies to refine antigen recognition, enhancing the specificity and efficacy of CAR T-cell therapies.
