1 in 6 people are impacted by infertility. Studies also show that 4 in 10 adults in the U.S. have used fertility treatments or know someone who has. A fertility journey can be lonely, overwhelming, and a complete rollercoaster. Knowing how to support someone struggling can make a big difference. Here are a few simple ways you can support someone with infertility: 1. Support their decisions 2. Know what to say vs. what not to say 3. Listen to them 4. Be there for them 5. Do your own research Infertility is incredibly difficult to go through, and unless you've experienced it, it can be truly hard to understand how complicated it is. But following these simple tips can go a long way and show you care. For anyone on a fertility journey, support, education, and community are important to help you feel more empowered. The trauma, pain, mental toll, and challenges that loss often bring are indescribable. It is a heaviness that changes you to your core. Today is National Rainbow Baby Day. This day can be challenging on many levels. On one hand, you have many celebrating, which can provide hope and light to some, but it can also be a heavy reminder to many of their loss and pain. When you're in the thick of it, it can be hard to see hope, hard to see light, and hard to see those on the other side of it all. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss. 1 in 100 experience recurrent pregnancy loss. Not every journey ends with a baby. These are all hard realities for many navigating both infertility and loss. If you're still in the wait or even have your rainbow, this day can be filled with many emotions. It’s often difficult to process this journey, and days like today can remind us that multiple feelings can co-exist, including grief, anger, and hope. Today, we are thinking of those celebrating their rainbows, those still in the wait, those who've experienced loss, and those whose journeys have ended. #nationalrainbowbabyday #grief #loss #infertility
