Announcing two more #TIFFTribute Award Honourees: Jharrel Jerome and Zhao Tao. 🏆 American award-winning actor Jharrel Jerome will receive the TIFF Tribute Performer Award. He joins previously announced Performer Award honouree Amy Adams, as well as past recipients including Colman Domingo, Vicky Krieps, Brendan Fraser, and more. Award-winning, Beijing-based artist Zhao Tao will receive the Special Tribute Award. Previous recipients include Andy Lau, Dionne Warwick, and David Foster. Now in its sixth year, the TIFF Tribute Awards, supported by Don Julio, will be held as a gala fundraiser during the 49th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday, September 8 at Fairmont Royal York Hotel. This year’s event will support TIFF’s Every Story Fund which champions diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in film. This year’s Primetime programme features eight new series from around the world - five of which are World Premieres - including Janicza Bravo’s THE LISTENERS, Mike Downie’s THE TRAGICALLY HIP: NO DRESS REHEARSAL, Alfonso Cuarón’s DISCLAIMER, and more.
