Founded in 1930, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada is the only national organization representing the full cross-section of Canada's $105 billion tourism industry. TIAC's members include air and passenger rail services, airport authorities, local and provincial destination authorities, hotels, attractions and tour operators. TIAC is responsible for representing tourism interests at the national level, and its advocacy work involves promoting and supporting policies, programs and activities that will benefit the sector's growth and development. About our Membership TIAC's membership reflects partnerships among all sectors of the industry, enabling the association to address the full range of issues facing Canadian tourism. TIAC's membership is as diverse as our country itself. We represent: • Over 300 members and thousands of affiliate members from coast to coast to coast • Over 1.6 million Canadians whose jobs depend on the economic activity generated by travel and tourism • Large national and multinational companies as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises • Airports, attractions, concert halls, convention centres, duty-free shops, festivals & events, restaurants & foodservices, arenas, transportation, travel services, travel trades, destination and provincial/territorial marketing organizations, suppliers, travel media, and educational institutions

Have you nominated a colleague or a leader in your industry for the Tourism Industry Association of Canada Canadian Tourism Awards? Last year, I was nominated and then announced as a Finalist for the 2023 TIAC Travel Media Professional Of The Year and it was an incredible life achievement and honour, to say the least. In an industry where we spend so much time behind our screens, it was an extraordinary experience to be nominated by my colleagues and recognized as a Finalist in front of my peers at the awards gala. With my Mom by my side, we dressed up and made our entrance, excited to meet all of the other finalists and celebrate the winners on stage. From tear-jerking speeches to inspirational stories, the gala is an incredible evening celebrating the best of our industry. This year the gala is coming to Vancouver on December 5th (and yes I’ve already got my ticket!). I can’t wait to be there to cheer on my colleagues and celebrate what makes our industry so special: the people. If you haven’t nominated someone, you still have time.
