Earlier this month, our CEO/Founder, Darshan Kaler, and Digital Advertising Specialist, Michelle Law, took a trip to San Francisco for Outside Lands! 🙌 They met with a few of our champions at the festival, including Leesa Allmond of Outside Lands and Brett Ruffenach of Blue Note Napa. A few highlights of their trip included listening to Post Malone's country set, checking out City Hall, and e-biking up the classic SF slopes! 🚲 #MusicFestival #Music #OutsideLands

Our Women's Sports Lead and Business Development Manager, Khevyn-Lynn Gormley, headed to the #UNMATCHED24 Gender Equity in Sports conference earlier this month. This event highlighted methods of championing equity in sport and featured incredible speakers like Venus Williams 🎾 , Jayna Hefford 🏒 , Jennifer Jones 🥌, and Marie-Philip Poulin 🏒 . What a great experience! #WomensSports #Sports #WomenInSports #FanMarketing

Wanted to give a huge congrats to the Tennis Canada team, especially my former colleagues Eva Havaris and Terri Temelini for their dedicated work in putting on the #UNMATCHED24 Conference earlier this August. The event focuses on ways industry leaders and professionals alike can champion equity in their fields of sport. Notable moments included: 🥌 Listening to Canadian curling legend, Jennifer Jones chat about her career. Jennifer mentioned not having a female curler to look up to growing up, which sheds a further light on the importance female role models can play in sustained participation in sport for girls. Jennifer also highlighted the key investment brands like Kruger have made to amplify women’s professional curling. 🏒 Watching PWHL trailblazers such as Jayna Hefford, Marie-Philip Poulin, Natalie Spooner and Laura Stacey take the stage and chat through the success of the first PWHL season. A testament to the fight these women alongside so many others had to take on to bring a unified women’s professional hockey league to North America. Natalie Spooner highlighted that herself and her fellow PWHL athletes are dedicated to to leaving the jersey in a better place than when they found it - imploring attendees to explore Canadian organizations empowering girls in hockey like Grindstone Award Foundation, Fast and Female Supporting Women in Sport Foundation and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. 🎾 Taking in Venus Williams’ fireside chat with Hazel Mae. To this day Venus and her younger sister Serena Williams serve as true champions of equity both on and off the court. Having the chance to witness Venus Williams speak about her journey in sport and business was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. The chat highlighted Venus’ fight for pay equity in tennis, where she served as an instrumental figure in fighting for WTA players to receive the same equal prize money as their male counterparts at Wimbledon. It was a two-year fight, which resulted in the tournament's announcement of equal prize money in 2007. And most appropriately, Williams was the first women's champion to receive equal prize money at Wimbledon. My Key Conference Takeaway: 🌟 A stand out quote from Venus from the conference was that “𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒃𝒚 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆.” This quote highlights how pivotal events like these are to spark thought when it comes to creating change, but that again equity doesn’t happen by chance. It happens through hard work. Eva Havaris and many other speakers mentioned that championing equity needs to be a year round conversation with action taking place 365 days a year. Be sure to keep this conference on your 2025 calendar! Always appreciative that my company Tradable Bits prioritizes attendance at such events, so that we can continue to draw on key learnings and ideas as we develop our own women’s sports focused initiatives in tech, like our Stronger Together program - https://lnkd.in/e-DX57fv.
