About us

The Urban Biodiversity Hub (UBHub) is a global not-for-profit organization enabling cities worldwide to plan with nature. Our website www.ubhub.org is a one-stop solution for the municipal official to source, implement, and track their biodiversity efforts. We offer: (1) the world’s largest public database of urban biodiversity activities globally, organised in the form of a user-friendly map with meaningful search and filter capabilities; and (2) support services for local governments and their allies for cities to create and manage their goals for biodiversity. We are currently developing myHub, a platform for municipalities to collaborate to monitor and measure their biodiversity efforts. Through www.ubhub.org, we connect urban biodiversity practitioners - individuals, organizations, and governments - with each other and with resources, tools, and data about urban biodiversity worldwide. UBHub’s vision is a world where biodiversity is prioritised in decision-making to achieve a higher quality of urban life. Our mission is to facilitate and decrease the barrier to entry for municipal governments to integrate nature to urban planning and development. Ultimately, we seek to improve the well-being of urban dwellers, human or otherwise, and deliver global environmental benefits.
