Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital joins the VCA Canada family as of April 8, 2024. Drs. Courtney Sherlock, Crystal Craig and Alison Pollard, along with VCA Canada, are excited to announce their partnership and the creation of a new veterinary hospital located in Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia. Aptly named VCA Canada Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital, this project opened for business at 572 Highway #1 on April 8, 2024. This beautiful two-story building is located only minutes from the highway near the heart of Mount Uniacke. This location aims to provide veterinary services to all areas of Hants County and beyond. With extensive parking, this veterinary hospital will be easily accessible. More and more people are choosing to live in nearby suburbs in the area. Along with the trend of moving to less condensed communities, there has also been a surge in pet ownership over the last few years across Nova Scotia, causing the need for quality veterinarian care to grow. “As a full-service small animal veterinary hospital, Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital will offer an array of services to the community, including routine medical care, surgery, dentistry, and retail sales,” shares Crystal Craig. Please join us in celebrating the opening of this new location team as we officially welcome Uniacke Lakes Animal Hospital to the VCA family!

We are thrilled to announce that the Veterinary Specialty Clinic for Anesthesia and Neurology (VSCAN) in Ottawa has joined the VCA Canada family, effective March 5, 2024. The VSCAN was established in 2016 by Dr. Philip Jull, DipECVN, DipABVP (canine & feline), and later joined by Dr. Stefania Grasso, DipACVAA, formerly at the University of Montreal. Since then, the VSCAN has rapidly evolved into a cornerstone of veterinary care in the Ottawa community. The VSCAN team of dedicated doctors and support staff grew exponentially over the years. This growth prompted a relocation to a larger facility at 2300 Carling Ave, marking a new chapter in the VSCAN's journey. Rooted in principles of respect, compassion, integrity, collaboration, and advancement, the VSCAN epitomizes excellence in veterinary neurology, anaesthesia and imaging. The VSCAN's commitment to exceptional care in a convenient setting makes it the premier choice for neurology, neurosurgery, anesthesia, and diagnostic Imaging services in Eastern Ontario. To enhance the health and well-being of the pets in our community, the VSCAN has recently begun offering additional part-time outpatient services, including surgery and cardiology. Embracing a culture of lifelong learning, curiosity, and innovation, the VSCAN is committed to continuous advancement and leveraging the latest technology to maintain its position as a leader in the field. We are also excited to announce that the VSCAN team will relocate to the new Alta Vista Emergency and Referral Center upon its expected opening in early 2025. This new state-of-the-art 52,000 sq ft facility will serve as a hub for Eastern Ontario as a full-service specialty/emergency centre, including an in-house cancer center. The VSCAN team is excited to embark on this new chapter as part of the VCA Canada family, and we invite everyone to join us in welcoming the VSCAN team to VCA Canada.
