Earlier this week, Walmart US & Sam’s Club hosted suppliers for our Food Summit focused on Walmart’s commitment to a sustainable food system that provides customers with food that’s affordable, accessible, healthier, safe and transparent. Walmart Canada’s Vice President of Communications and Corporate Affairs Rob Nicol also shared some of the customer and supplier-facing initiatives we’ve been working on in Canada to progress in our waste reduction goals including: - Eliminating single-use plastic bags. - Launching our reusable Walmart blue bag recycling program powered by TerraCycle. - Collaborating with suppliers to reduce unnecessary plastics. - Endorsing Consumer Good Forums “Gold Design Rules” for plastics and packaging. https://lnkd.in/gGUZEheD Rob Nicol Steeve Azoulay Jennifer Barbazza Polly Chen, MEnvSc Mikel Hancock Carlos A. It’s Grocery Heroes Day! Today and every day we’re celebrating our associates in our stores and across our supply chain who work hard behind the scenes to help our customers save money and live better. These are the people who keep our shelves stocked with the items our customers love, operate our distribution and fulfillment centres, load and drive the trucks carrying goods to our stores and prepare online pickup and delivery orders. Thank you to all the heroes at Walmart Canada for everything you’ve done and continue to do! #GroceryHeroesDay #Walmart #WalmartCanada

Let’s talk about the future of work! We recently held a panel discussion hosted by Walmart Canada’s Director of Enterprise Technology, Sabrina Ratheekan, with VP of Talent Management and CDEI, Jennifer (JP) Pierce MBA, CHRE, FLPI, Chief Information Officer, Michon Williams and Chief People Officer, AnnMarie Mercer. We discussed Walmart’s recent launch of our own Gen AI tool that helps simplify and accelerate tasks that can be tedious and time consuming for our associates. We also talked about the importance of knowing how to make the best use of AI powered tools and how Walmart is supporting associates in building critical Gen AI and tech skills as ways of working continue to evolve. At Walmart, we envision a future where Gen AI complements human creativity and strategic thinking, making jobs easier and more efficient for our associates. #GenAI #FutureofWork #Walmart #WalmartCanada

Introducing sensory-friendly hours at Walmart Canada! More than 33% of people experience sensory overload, meaning things like sound and moving images can be too intense to process and can cause discomfort or frustration. Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from store opening until 10 a.m. local time, sensory-friendly hours help to provide a calmer experience by eliminating or reducing potential sensory stimuli. During these times, we’re turning off music and radio ads, pausing announcements and paging, as well as changing our TV wall screens to static images. Read more about how sensory-friendly hours are creating a more inclusive shopping experience here: https://lnkd.in/gVJe9pYp Joe Schrauder, Lina Nadar, Christel S., Phoebe Sequino, Gemma Adams, Amanda Moss, Sarah Kennedy, Derreck Cuschieri, Natalie Houlder, Natalie Jeffery, Lani Lindsay, Ramsha Hamid #CustomerExperience #SensoryFriendly #AccessibilityMatters #InclusiveShoppingExperience #Walmart #WalmartCanada
