Cheers to kicking off our first career coaching session for our latest micro-credential cohort! 🥂 We're excited to be partnering with the Pinball Foundation to put almost 200 young people from underserved communities around Canada through a fully funded program at George Brown College, with career placement outcomes upon completion! These brilliant students have a broad range of professional backgrounds in a plethora of industries, and we can't wait to support them in getting into the job market! As we count down the last days of summer, I want to thank our amazing intern, Tom. He will be missed by the entire team. His approach to work with a mix of enthusiasm and curiosity is such a great thing. He will always have a home at The Whiteboard Collective, and we have no doubt he will do great things in the future. What a legend!

We're excited to congratulate Alexander Berhe Goitom on his new role at Bird Construction as a Student Project Coordinator! 🎉 Alexander is a brilliant student who we connected with through Brien Convery from emrge talent. He's studying Civil Engineering at the University of Windsor, and has experience working with companies like the Ontario Ministry of Transportation/ Ministère des Transports de l’Ontario! Alexander, we are very excited for you and are happy to be apart of your journey! Listen, if you’re wondering why we brag about our young people so much, it’s because they’re really all that and more! 😎 The other day Antonica (who we placed at The Reading Partnership this summer), gave us a call and asked to use our studio space to shoot content for her nonprofit organization - and of course the answer was YES! Antonica Kiala is one of our awesome youth from the Pinball Foundation. By day she’s a final year Psychology student at York University, but after hours she runs a brilliant non profit organization called Girl Impact that strives to empower young black girls! We love how multifaceted our youth are, and it’s an honour to be able to holistically nurturing both their professional and personal passions! #whiteboardcollective #youthpassion #nonprofit

Well guys, school is officially back in session which means that summer is technically over 😩 BUT, we could NOT let the school year start without throwing an exciting event for our community! Last Thursday we had an open mic at our studio space where a bunch of youth from our programs, as well as others from the community showcased their multitude of talents. The space was busy, the energy was chill and everybody said they had an amazing time! All of the young professionals we support are EXTREMELY multifaceted, and so we are big fans of creating opportunities to nurture ALL of their skills. I mean think about, what's better than an aerospace engineer? An aerospace engineer that also makes music! Special shoutout to all of the amazing performers!
