The VRCA - Vancouver Regional Construction Association Canadian Construction Women (CCW) SWING series just wrapped up last week, with an exciting 9-hole tournament, where participants had the chance to put into practice everything they learned throughout the awesome two week long series. Bria and Carlyle were in attendance for the series and we caught up with Carlyle to learn more about her experience during the two weeks and the impact it's had for her ⛳ ✨ Q. What drew you to participate in this series? A new opportunity to improve my golf skills while networking with other women in the Construction Industry. I was particularly drawn to the event because it was over multiple days ending with a 9 hole tournament. Q. Did you have any specific goals going into the lessons, and did you achieve them? I wanted to gain the confidence to play in an 18 hole tournament and not feel like the weakest link. I'm now working towards enjoying the game and improving my skills each time, so that’s a win for me! Q. How do you plan to continue developing the skills you've learned from these lessons? I'm looking forward to taking more lessons next year and saying YES to more tournaments and playing opportunities. I've also connected with three women in my neighborhood who love golf, so we can keep improving our skills together. Q. What was your favorite part of the experience? Networking aside, I’d say the art of chipping. After the lesson I stuck around a little longer to chat with the coach and got some one-on-one pointers. Q. Is there any advice you would you give to other Women considering joining an experience like this? DO IT! Don’t worry about what you look like playing golf or where your ball goes. In these courses the balls are endless so just give’r. Repetition = Improvement.
