To not get too involved in hot topics. What I did was get myself well informed on topics. Dig into the subject matter more than most, and back up my opinions with cold hard facts. Now, I am one of the most popular voices in the space albeit, with modest but growing following. And my point is DO...don't try to be perfect from the start. Do and adjust along the way.
