About

As the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Reconciliation (DEIR) and Learning at Vancity Credit Union, I lead the organization's transformative journey towards anti-racism and the creation of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, I collaborate closely with the Board Chair and Directors to govern and support these critical initiatives.

With over 15 years of experience in Human Resources spanning various sectors, including banking, food and beverage, and software, I bring a wealth of expertise to this role. My extensive background includes keynote speaking engagements at prestigious events such as the WORTH Conference, World Credit Union Conference, Diversity Symposium, UKG DEI Conferences, and more.

My focus at Vancity involves developing and implementing DEIR strategies and policies, along with establishing metrics to measure progress. Drawing on my graduate certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University, as well as certifications in Conflict Resolution, Working Mind, Korn Ferry Leadership Assessment, and Coaching Foundations, I provide thought leadership and coaching to executives and leaders.

A testament to my commitment to fostering inclusivity, I have spearheaded initiatives such as launching a comprehensive diversity data survey and dashboard, hosting numerous anti-racism town halls, and facilitating DEIR sessions for a large number of staff members. Furthermore, I have played a pivotal role in creating executive and board anti-racism and equity-based learning programs.

Passionate about continuous learning and growth, I prioritize staying updated on the latest developments in DEIR and HR practices to drive meaningful change within Vancity and beyond. Through cultivating strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and delivering impactful training and workshops, I am dedicated to enhancing DEIR capacity and awareness for the betterment of our organization and community.
