About

Barbara Mowat, founder and president of GroYourBiz Ltd. and Impact Communications Ltd., & Creator/Producer at EXCELerate Conferences, is a connector, SME advocate, champion for collaboration, and international trade and business-development expert who has helped business owners reach new markets, achieve growth, and succeed throughout Canada, South-East Asia, USA, South America, Europe, Afghanistan, India, and Africa.

Barbara is passionate about helping enterprises grow and succeed by connecting them to the right people or facilitating healthy collaborations, both nationally and globally. When your business grows and succeeds, there is a SPLASH that’s felt by others—a splash that she believes ripples to inspire others to find their own success.

It’s important to note: The well-respected *Uniquely Programs* that assisted 12,000 Canadian entrepreneurs access increased markets was created by Barbara. In addition, she started and owned a national magazine, a retail store, and an e-commerce site to support home-based and small businesses.

Her commitment to women-led business growth and success, and the advancement of women’s economic and social empowerment, leads Barbara to serve business managers and owners in two ways: GroYourBiz Ltd. and EXCELerate Conferences.

GroYourBiz: MyBusiness-MyBoard™ harnesses the power of peer support to help women business owners meet daily challenges, solve problems, beat isolation, navigate strategic planning, and make better, timely decisions. Members meet monthly in a confidential, professionally facilitated environment to act collectively as each other’s board of advisors. GroYourBiz in-person boards and *Global Virtual Boards* are active and growing in Canada + 15 other countries.

EXCELerate Conferences: For EXCELerate, Barbara (who is both creator and producer of the conferences) brings together a dynamic group of women entrepreneurs and professionals (all sectors/all org sizes), who are connected through values and vision, and strive to *GroYourBiz with the Speed of Collaboration*. EXCELerate initiated the *WE Empower UN SDG Challenge*, where GroYourBiz is a lead sponsor.

Barbara’s key skills include integrated marketing and trade development for SMEs, with a special emphasis on women and entrepreneurship development programs, domestic and international.
