I studied forestry at the UofA when the faculty was very new and focused on Heritage Interpretation as an area of emphasis. This was prior to the creation of the Environmental Conservation Sciences Program. I was fortunate to be a Teacher's Assistant for the Forest Zoology and Dendrology classes. This allowed me to learn the trees and wildlife of Alberta right down to bat skulls and the calls of many of the birds of Alberta.
