How can you plan and prepare for emergencies like a pro?
Great flag Chief Kaye! We are fortunate to have such a well supported EM training and exercise plan in Saanich for our corporate staff, as well as almost 100 emergency program volunteers who train and exercise on a regular basis to ensure they are ready to response when called upon.

How can you plan and prepare for emergencies like a pro?
Great comments here! After-action reports are so valuable, and depending on the event, an interim action report can be just as important. This is something we undertook during our EOC activation in response to COVID-19 with great success. We have already made significant improvements to our plans and processes as a part of these reports/debriefs!

How can you plan and prepare for emergencies like a pro?
Knowing your risks is critical. Saanich recently completed a Community Risk Assessment and it proved vital to informing updates to our Emergency Response and Recovery Planning. We also use a 'know your risks' approach in our public education piece to help residents understand/contextualize risk and therefore have a better understanding of how to prepare.
