Kashmera Self is an industry recognized, forward looking financial services and technology leader with 20+ years of experience in corporate strategy, innovation, and product commercialization with an intrapreneurial / entrepreneurial edge. She has a successful track record leading private/public sector stakeholder relations in emerging technologies with a purpose-driven approach to innovating for social good through digital transformation. What lights her up the most? When she gets to interpret emerging trends to help Interac design and bring to market the best products that empowers 40 million Canadians. Kash has helped lead multiple go-to-market strategies within the payments, financial services, and travel industries, all by identifying and providing value to customers!

As VP, Strategy & Innovation at Interac, she leads a team in pursuing emerging topics including open banking, artificial intelligence (AI), value exchange, and blockchain to establish the long-term corporate strategy that helps steer the future of financial services here in Canada. Their focus is on the Canadian digital ecosystem and Kash's role is leading the strategy and go-to-market steps to futureproof Interac. Outside of Interac, Kashmera is also an active governance Board Director, advisory Board Member, global speaker, fintech industry advisor, and mentor.

For her public and private sector work over the years, Kashmera has been recognized as one of DMZ's Women of the Year in 2023, one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada by the Women’s Executive Network in 2021, a recipient of M20/20 Rise UP program in 2020, a recipient of Women in Payments Rising Star award in 2017, and was part of the team recognized by ACT Canada for Canadian Payment Innovation in 2016. She was previously a member of the Digital Public Good Alliance for the United Nations and a Co-Chair of the Financial Data Exchange. She likes to remind everyone she speaks to that none of these accolades would be possible without the support of her team, peers, and mentors.

Away from work you’ll find her adventuring with her family, travelling a new place, strumming the ukulele or enjoying the sunshine in nature.
