About
Monica Flores is an executive with twenty years of experience leading Communications and Public Affairs at multinational corporations in Canada, Latin America, Europe and the U.S. Prior to her current role as Vice-President Governmental Affairs and Communications for Telefilm Canada, Monica advised clients in the areas of communications, branding, public affairs and stakeholder relations while at the helm of the consulting firm that she founded.
As a member of Senior Leadership Teams at the country, regional and global levels, Monica has worked in over ten countries and is fluent in four languages (English, French, Spanish and Portuguese). She has a proven track record leading impactful communications for product launches, transformation and corporate reputation initiatives and building empowered teams to achieve ambitious business objectives.
Monica believes in the importance of giving back to the community. Outside of her professional activities, she is the co-founder of the Canadian-Latin American Women Executive Network, former Secretary General of the International Women's Forum (Montreal Chapter) and member of the National Advancing Women's Leadership Committee. In these volunteer endeavours, Monica aims to have an impact by elevating women leaders from diverse communities.
Monica is a member of the McGill University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Advancement Board, is a member of the Executive Committee of the Women of Influence Circle at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Council for Services to Children and Adolescents (CSCA) of the Montreal Children's Hospital and the Women in Philanthropy Committee at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC).
Monica holds an M.B.A. in international business and marketing from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) and a B.A. in Anthropology from McGill University. She recently completed the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) with the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), where she was the recipient of the Diversity scholarship.
