“I met Natalie when I interviewed for a role with the Career Edge organization. Unfortunately, it was not the best fit for me and I did not get the job. Fortunately though, our paths crossed and when I asked Natalie for feedback she gave me some lucrative career and interview advice. She was kind enough to share an internship with the City of Toronto with me as an alternative option. I applied and used the tips she gave me to land the role of Election Recruitment Officer. I really enjoyed working in that role and it opened many doors for me. Natalie has kept in touch through social media and I look forward to seeing her at HR events. I can’t stress enough the positive impression she made on me during a difficult job searching process. She was meant to work in HR and is definitely a “people person”! In March 2012, three classmates and I entered a competition to solve a business case as a team with both strategic business and Human Resources solutions. Good HR people are even better business people! In the end, we won first place and thanks to audience votes, we were the recipients of the People's Choice Award.
