In a diabetes prediction classification problem, the recall score is the most relevant metric to compare model performance, as false negatives are unacceptable from a human health diagnosis standpoint. A high recall indicates that the model is effective at detecting most of the actual diabetes cases, which is crucial in a medical context. In this case, a model with high recall but moderate precision might be a desirable model performance to start with.
