About

As a breast cancer survivor and lived experience healthcare advisor, my cause is to walk alongside others who share my passion to provide person-centred patient care for Canadians. My vision is to work with patients and healthcare providers who strive to improve the patient’s experience of healthcare.

Daily, I live a purpose-filled life to serve patients and affect change in how patients are cared for by healthcare providers. My mission is to use my lived experience and patient voice to advise, advocate, speak, and mentor others to create a world where patients receive the best person-centred care by their healthcare providers.

Areas of interest include: two-way communication between healthcare provider and patient, and helping healthcare organizations improve their quality of care for patients. As well, I am interested in multi-focused cancer care including: prevention and education, diagnosis and treatment, patient navigation, research, and survivorship.

Skills utilized in healthcare advisory work include: program analysis and development, committee and project work, public speaking, media, public relations, communications, collaboration, critical thinking, program evaluation and administration, strategy development, partnership management, and managing volunteers.

My career includes: corporate community relations, administration of philanthropy grants, scholarships, sponsorships, program strategy and development, corporate communications, marketing, and non-profit fund raising.
