  • Study of factors impacting Real Exchange Effective Rate of India vis a vis the US dollar

    This project was done during the summer internship at the Indira Gandhi Institute Of Development and Research.
    The project dealt with studying the factors that affect the Real Exchange
    Effective Rate of India vis a vis the dollar. The factors considered were the
    GDP of India and USA, the total money of the two countries, and their total
    expenditures. A linear regression model was fitted to arrive at the influential
    factors and it was found that the GDPs of the two…

    This project was done during the summer internship at the Indira Gandhi Institute Of Development and Research.
    The project dealt with studying the factors that affect the Real Exchange
    Effective Rate of India vis a vis the dollar. The factors considered were the
    GDP of India and USA, the total money of the two countries, and their total
    expenditures. A linear regression model was fitted to arrive at the influential
    factors and it was found that the GDPs of the two countries and the US
    expenditure were the main determinants. A historical data of 40 years was
    used and it was checked for all the conditions needed for regression analysis
    namely linearity, normality, heteroscedasticty, multi-collinearity and outliers.
