About us
La Faculté des sciences sociales (FSS) comprend neuf départements, écoles et institutions, qui offrent des programmes de premier cycle, de maîtrise et de doctorat en anglais et en français. Avec ses 10 000 étudiants, 260 professeurs à temps plein et un large éventail de programmes et de centres de recherche, la FSS joue un rôle clé au cœur de l'Université d'Ottawa. Ses étudiants diplômés sont encadrés par d'excellents chercheurs et entreprennent des recherches de pointe dans les domaines de maîtrise et de doctorat de la Faculté. L'équipe des relations avec les diplômés de la Faculté continue de fournir des efforts pour rester connectée avec notre communauté et établir des relations significatives afin de faire une différence remarquable pour nos étudiants et pour l'avenir de l'éducation. Its graduate students are supervised by excellent researchers and undertake cutting-edge research in the Faculty's masters and Ph.D. programs. The Faculty’s Alumni Relations team continues to strive to connect with others and build meaningful relationships to make a remarkable difference for our students and for the future of education. Along our Singh Family Lecture Series, we launched multiple digital initiatives including our One on One video interview series and our alumni guest blog post series. They both feature our Faculty alumni who share their inspiring journey and achievements with us.

Hier, en partenariat avec l’équipe de Carrière et apprentissage expérientiel, la uOttawa | Faculté des sciences sociales | Faculty of Social Sciences et Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, nous avons animé la deuxième journée du « Labo d'idées : Durabilité ». La journée a commencé par un atelier captivant sur la manière de présenter une idée d'entreprise, animé par Lionel Regis (EN) et Kyle Thomas (FR). Après l'atelier, les groupes ont passé plusieurs heures à perfectionner leurs concepts et à préparer leurs présentations. Chaque groupe a ensuite présenté son idée à un public et à notre panel de juges composé de : Matt Archibald, Imad El.laia et Maxine Fournier. Félicitations à chaque groupe pour leur présentation d'idées novatrices et la preuve de leur travail acharné ! Yesterday, we partnered with the Career Development & Experiential Learning team, the uOttawa | Faculté des sciences sociales | Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, to host the second day of “Ideas Lab: Sustainability”. The day began with an engaging workshop on how to pitch a business idea, facilitated by Lionel Regis (EN) and Kyle Thomas (FR). Following the workshop, groups spent several hours refining their concepts and practicing their presentations. Each group then presented their ideas to an audience and our panel of judges featuring: Matt Archibald, Imad El.laia, and Maxine Fournier. Congratulations to each group for presenting their innovative ideas and showcasing their hard work!
