Full course description

"Removing Barriers to Change in Organizations" is designed to provide participants with essential tools and insights to drive effective change within their organizations. Change is often met with resistance, and this course focuses on identifying and overcoming the common barriers that hinder progress. By adopting a catalyst approach, participants will learn how to reduce roadblocks, incite action, and create a conducive environment for transformation.

Professor Jonah Berger of the Wharton School has designed this course to help you understand the REDUCE framework, and shows you how to develop your skills of persuasion and influence.

Participants will explore techniques to minimize resistance by involving stakeholders in the change process and offering choices. They will learn to surface the hidden costs of maintaining the status quo and demonstrate the benefits of change compellingly. The course also covers strategies to make large changes feel manageable by implementing incremental steps and lowering perceived risk through trials and pilot programs.

Through case studies and interactive exercises, participants will apply the REDUCE framework to their own organizational challenges, developing comprehensive plans to address and overcome specific barriers. The course concludes with a recap of key concepts and strategies, providing guidance on implementing learned techniques and maintaining momentum for sustained change.

Ideal for managers, leaders, and change agents, this course equips participants with practical strategies and a deeper understanding of the psychological and structural barriers to change, empowering them to lead successful transformation initiatives.
