    Skrine announced Tuesday that he has retired from the NFL, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.

    After 11 seasons in the NFL, Skrine will retire. He'll finish his career with 590 tackles, 10 interceptions, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and 3.5 sacks over 158 games.

    Skrine (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, according to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site.

    The outside linebacker entered the COVID-19 protocols Dec. 27 but has exited them quickly, meaning he should be available for Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins. Skrine has seen the field more often in recent weeks and has played at least 98 percent of the defensive snaps in each of his last three appearances.

    Skrine (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. The designation came as a result of a positive test, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

    Skrine joined the Titans on Nov. 23 and has been a consistent presence in the secondary, having played no less than 98 percent of the defensive snaps in any of their last three contests. He'll try to clear protocols in time for Sunday, when Tennessee hosts the Dolphins.

    Skrine was signed to the Titans' active roster Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

    The cornerback was cut by the 49ers on Oct. 11 prior to being signed by the Titans on Tuesday. After playing in 12 games for the Bears last season, recording 66 tackles and three pass deflections, Skrine has only played three snaps on special teams this season. He will provide depth in the Tennessee secondary.

    Injuries are stacking up in the 49ers' secondary. Jason Verrett tore his ACL in Week 1. K'Waun Williams (calf) is expected to miss a few weeks. And Josh Norman is dealing with a lung contusion. Skrine, 32, averaged 46.3 defensive snaps across 12 games for the Bears last season, so he'll add dependable depth while the Niners heal.
