Bahamian islands of dreams

Andros

The biggest, most rugged and emptiest island in the archipelago, Andros is great for birdwatching, diving on its huge barrier reef or simply losing yourself in.

Grand Bahama

For nature trails, national parks and first-class diving – but a thorough tourist infrastructure and easy accessibility – try Grand Bahama.

Harbour Island

Looking for those famous pink sands? Head to Harbour Island (or Eleuthera). Long Island is a beachy beauty too, and also home to Dean’s Blue Hole, the 663ft deep sinkhole you’ll see on a million screensavers.

Cat Island

For history (it was named after pirate Arthur Catt, and still houses plenty of plantation ruins) and culture (it’s the spiritual home of rake ’n’ scrape music), head to this utterly unspoiled beauty.
