Wednesday memories! The National Basketball Association (NBA) stars rocked yesterday in Jeux Olympiques Paris 2024 ●. In 1992 the first NBA players where invited to play at the Games in Barcelona. A true Dream Team with Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Karl Marlone, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley and Larry Bird (to do some "star-dropping"). Global interest in basketball soared due to the Dream Team. Back then humanity was in overshoot and used 1.2 Earths. In the last 32 years, our overshoot grew: from 1.2 Earths to 1.7 Earths. What a great initiative of Benjamin Von Wong , biochar producer Wongphai I BIOCHAR I BambooPlus and Ileana Betancourt, to unveil the world’s tallest biochar sculpture, “The Carbon Phoenix“. Made from 4 tons of carbon – the average annual carbon footprint per person worldwide – the sculpture highlights a growing problem and a promising solution: #Biochar. This charcoal-like material is created from biomass that would otherwise be burned. And, when added to soil, it sequesters carbon for centuries while improving soil quality.
