Your next car will be an EV. We hear this all the time. But what’s the data behind this statement? As the International Energy Agency (IEA) reports, electric cars are projected to reach up to 40.7 million in sales globally, accounting for 44% share of total car sales by 2030. Look away from the sales figures for a minute. An average EV has a max energy storage capacity of 61.5kWh, and with the projected number of EVs expected to be on the road in 2030 in Europe, will result in an aggregate battery capacity of 364.3875 TWh moving on the roads.
