We are proud to announce that KORE Technologies has merged with its parent company Phoenix Technologies AG!   KORE Technologies was founded for the blockchain activities of the Phoenix Technology Group – at a time when working with blockchain technology necessitated a separate entity to mitigate the associated risks of such a new field.   Fast forward to today things have changed significantly: We have been at the forefront of Swiss blockchain technology development, helping several companies to enter the field and building their blockchain applications. In addition, our digital product pass solution, LuxeID, is deployed with Switzerland’s most prominent watchmakers.   What will change for our clients and applications? The answer is simple: Nothing. It was a remarkable day; I have trained and deployed my first foundation Model on kvant AI and I had the honor of unveiling kvant AI together with Christian Keller. These milestones, which our teams have been working towards for over two years, was proudly presented to the Swiss media. Thomas Taroni prefers to speak of concrete examples rather than theory. As partner of Lenovo, Phoenix Technologies AG presented its relevant AI use cases during the Lenovo Conference in at The Dolder Grand in Zurich. The audience was grateful to hear about 3 typical adoption areas of generative AI for businesses. 1. Internal knowledge database: Companies are plagued by knowledge silos. Different tools to document knowledge require high maintenance effort and are often not ideal to actually FIND things. Numerous colleagues have told me they operate internal Confluence pages or Wiki's but rarely find anything there. With AI you can connect all these knowledge sources and enable employees to find relevant elements smoothly and in context of their query. It triggers an incredible efficiency gain to ramp up new employees who barely need introduction sessions anymore if they can simply ask their questions to an internal AI tool. Team members can increase their efficiency by up to 30% simply by finding the right information easily and with low effort. 2. Client support hotlines and call centres: This is probably the lowest hanging fruit of generative AI. Applied by an insurance company, such a tool is able to generate, compare, refine and conclude insurance coverage with a client directly and in a fully automated way. 3. Programming smaller applications without knowing how to code: It is possible today as non developer to create and program smaller applications without any programming skills. These are just 3 of the most commonly adopted use cases. We are happy to explore more of them if you want to reach out.

Am Lenovo Kick-Off' 24 durfte ich unsere Souveräne AI mit 3 verschiedenen realen Beispielen einem hochgradig interessierten Publikum näher bringen. Zusammen mit Carla Bünger konnten wir aufzeigen wie AI in komplexe Applikationen integriert wird. Aktuell sind dies oft Anwendungen, mit denen ein Unternehmen die Kundenkommunikation steuert. Es wurden viele interessante Fragen aufgeworfen, die in guten Gesprächen weiter vertieft werden konnten. Was ich selber feststellen kann ist, dass die Adaption von AI Applikationen definitiv in jedem Unternehmen angekommen ist. Es liegt nun an uns, Produkte anzubieten, die es den Unternehmen ermöglichen, AI problemlos in bestehende Lösungen zu integrieren und damit den eignen Kunden wiederum eine bessere Experience zu bieten. “The rebranding of linear algebra as ‘artificial intelligence’ may be the most successful marketing campaign of all time.” – Will Slaughter on X While of course there is more to AI, the basic concepts are surprisingly easy – and yes, essential linear algebra. At the heart of AI are so called perceptrons, which are essentially artificial neurons that can be trained. They use linear algebra to find the optional solution for a given problem and have parameters that are optimized through training in order to ensure high accuracy. Obviously, one perceptron cannot be the foundation of a highly complex AI solution. In order to achieve this, you need to group several perceptrons into layers and connect them with each other. This creates so called Multi-Layer-Perceptrons. Today, many advancements past the simple perceptron are used to create neural networks. For example, Chat-GPT leverages a concept called Transformers. But just how complex are these systems? GPT-3 uses 96 layers and 175 billion different weight parameters inside these layers that were trained with data. So, while the fundamentals might be easy, the creation and training of such systems is not. However, if you want to learn about AI, Chat GPT is already remarkably good at giving you insights – just ask it! #Ai #ChatGPT #kvantAI

"When the going gets easier" mit dem Swiss Economic Forum 2024   Das 26. #SEF in Interlaken neigt sich dem Ende zu. Der Fokus in diesem Jahr lag auf Themen rund um #Wettbewerbsfähigkeit #Innovation und #Technologie. Immer wieder wurde hervorgehoben, dass der Innovationsgeist der Schweiz und #KI als strategische Technologie entscheidend sein werden, um das Wirtschaftswachstum voranzutreiben.   Das SEF bietet eine perfekte Platform für einen regen Austausch mit unseren Kunden, Partnern, Führungskräften von Unternehmen und Vertretern der Politik über Wirtschaft, Technologie und neue Projektideen. Eines meiner persönlichen Highlights war zudem die heutige IBM Breakout-Session.
