Well done Proman! Last week, Stena Prosperous was refueled with methanol at the port of Point Lisas in Trinidad, and later this week, Stena Pro Patria will be refueled there as well, bringing the total methanol fuel supplied to ships in Trinidad to 12,500 MT over the past 12 months. Methanol is widely available at over 120 ports globally, including Point Lisas, where refuelling is now regularly conducted. Stena Prosperous had recently completed a voyage from her official naming ceremony in Singapore, with stops in Indonesia, Brazil, and the U.S. port of Savannah, before arriving in Trinidad. The ship was bunkered in Singapore with a 20/80 green/conventional methanol blend, resulting in a 31% reduction in CO2e emissions compared to a similar voyage using Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO).
