Did you know? 😊 ➡ After lifting the pinnacle for the Burj Khalifa in Dubai over a decade ago, VSL took on another impressive challenge in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2021. 👷♂️ We contributed to the construction of Merdeka 118, the world’s second tallest building. VSL handled the heavy lifting of the spire at the top of this 118-story, 678.9-meter skyscraper, providing the supply, installation, and operation of our advanced lifting system. The 616-meter elevation of the working platform and the monsoonal weather made this project even more demanding. 660 Trees! 🌳🤩 Thanks to the incredible commitment of VSL employees, 660 trees will be planted worldwide. 🍃 A few days ago, we held the second edition of the VSL Climate Action Challenge to raise climate awareness and reduce our carbon footprint. Our employees showed outstanding dedication and motivation. 😍 They initiated various eco-friendly actions: climate fresks, donations to associations, veggie lunches, neighborhood cleanups, and promoting biking, public transport, and carpooling. These efforts sparked passionate discussions and fostered a culture of sustainability. 😍 The VSL teams in the Middle East have partnered with Bridgology SA to offer an innovative, smart post-tensioning inspection approach on the King Fahd Causeway, an iconic bridge linking Khobar, Saudi Arabia to Al Jasra, Bahrain. 🎯 The challenge? Conduct a large-scale inspection of the bridge’s post-tensioning system, in a non-invasive manner with minimal disruption to traffic flow. 🔎 The solution lies in Bridgology's GPR scanning and advanced data processing. This unique technology will allow the processing of 125 kilometers of bridge deck and webs scanning lines to pinpoint areas at higher risk of issues and corrosion in both concrete and post-tensioning. ➡ The solution provides insights into asphalt thickness, concrete cover, rebar density and concrete contamination levels. The results are presented through clear mapping and can seamlessly integrate into the bridge’s 3D model for enhanced visualization. ✅ It will significantly reduce the need for tests and probes and will enable targeted actions in specific locations. 👏 Over the past few years, VSL and Bridgology have forged fruitful partnerships on key inspection projects worldwide.
