Info
Millions of people have little or no chance of good health, simply because of where they were born, live, or work. At the WHO Foundation, we think that’s unfair and must change. We are working to improve the situation by connecting donors with amazing organizations on the ground whose projects are making a huge difference to people’s lives. Our links with the WHO mean we can make these connections all over the world, ultimately making healthcare fairer. While we share WHO's vision of a world where health knows no boundaries, the WHO Foundation operates independently.

Extreme heat is hitting Africa hard, with women bearing the brunt. From health risks to increased violence, the impacts are severe. But there’s hope: investment in women-led solutions, like those spearheaded by Africa’s first Chief Heat Officer, eugenia kargbo, can pave the way forward: https://bit.ly/3TpJ9rY Thank you, Mariel Ferragamo, for covering this important topic. #ClimateAction #GenderEquity #WomensHealth

Brave Talk, created by #MaybellineNewYork in partnership with The Jed Foundation (JED), provides young people with the tools to support each other and seek help when needed. Whether you're returning to school or just need someone to talk to, remember: it's OK to ask for help. You're not alone. Are you representing a company or an organization interested in supporting the World Health Organization (WHO) and its partners in stopping the #mpox outbreak? As Silvia Rossini, one of our partnership managers, explains in this video (images thanks to WHO / Guerchom Ndebo), you can make a difference through the Health Emergency Alliance (HEA), convened by our Foundation. The HEA is a community of businesses and private foundations committed to saving lives during health emergencies. Contributions from HEA members enable WHO to deliver rapid, life-saving medical support and to strengthen preparedness for future crises, wherever they arise. To learn more, visit our website (here: https://lnkd.in/e3TTjREz) or connect directly with Silvia on LinkedIn. Thank you for your support! #CorporateGiving #HealthEmergencies

Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of families, health workers, and vaccinators in #Gaza, and the unwavering support from the World Health Organization and partner organizations, the first phase of the polio vaccination campaign has exceeded its target, reaching over 187,000 children despite the challenging circumstances. Such encouraging news!
The first phase of #polio vaccination in central #Gaza is complete. Over 187,000 children under the age of ten were vaccinated, well over the target of 156,500. The numbers are being finalised. Four fixed sites will continue to offer polio vaccination for the next three days in central Gaza to ensure no child is missed. Preparations are underway today to roll out the vaccine campaign in south Gaza, which will start tomorrow. We are grateful for the dedication of all the families, health workers and vaccinators who made this part of the campaign a success despite the dire conditions in the Gaza Strip. We ask for the humanitarian pauses to continue to be respected. We continue to call for a ceasefire.

WHO Foundation hat dies direkt geteilt
Last week, the World Health Organization declared the #mpox outbreak in several African countries a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. By doing so, it hopes to direct funding and attract international cooperation for the emergency response. In too many countries, there is not enough access to healthcare, laboratory surveillance and diagnostic services to adequately address outbreaks such as this. We know that official development assistance is insufficient to meet growing health needs in the world. This is why I was in Japan this month with my WHO Foundation colleagues to meet investors, government representatives and entrepreneurs exploring ways to expand healthcare via impact investing initiatives for health.
Mpox is a wake-up call for greater health investment
