You're a manager who needs to motivate your team. How can you use motivational interviewing to achieve this?
Show empathy and listen actively. Include all team members; everybody has a voice. maybe there are obstacles? Try to identify what support is needed for your team & discuss solutions together. Ask the right questions, make a rapport to identify the right needs, and maybe training which is needed.

What do you do if job candidates lack motivation during career coaching sessions?
Motivational interviews are based on four principles, partnership, acceptance, compassion and evocation. You have to be a supporter and cheerleader , sharing affirmation and unconditional positive regard, valuing the client as an individual and showing care and concern, and you have to ask open-ended questions, include affirmations, reflective listening and summarizing. Essential active listening and empathy!
