Basic function of position: The incumbent reports to the Senior Facility Manager and the Building Engineer Supervisor, working under their direction to determine work priorities. The incumbent is a primary point of contact for all routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work orders and requests for services and assures distribution to the appropriate shop for action. The incumbent is the customer service representative for the Facility Management section, communicating with personnel from all levels within the Embassy.     The U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Mail Room Supervisor in the DT section.   Salary: CLP 18,687,967 gross salary p.a.   Basic function of position: Manages all unclassified pouch and diplomatic mail operations at the mailroom; supervises 4 Mail Clerks who support all mailroom functions. Serves as primary local liaison with airport authorities, and mail handling contractors. Sorts and distributes mail, processes incoming diplomatic pouches, and prepares diplomatic pouches for dispatch. Responsible for transportation, safeguarding, receipt and delivery of all incoming and outgoing DPO mail and unclassified diplomatic pouches. Maintains all required paperwork. Ensures all security standards are met for proper storage and handling of DPO accountable mail, DPM registered, certified and pouch material. Provides guidance to all offices authorized to use DPO and pouch services. Ensures all BPA contracts are kept up to date.   Qualifications/Requirements: 1.    Successful completion of high school or local equivalent is required.    2.    At least two years of experience in external or internal customer service where tasks included problem solving and mail handling or other related clerical experience, plus one year of supervisory or team lead experience are required. 3.    Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English and Spanish is required. (This will be tested.)   4.  Thorough knowledge of standard office practices. Must possess or be able to acquire knowledge of Department of State Post Office and host country post regulations and procedures; must possess or be able to acquire knowledge of local post offices, airport, and train facilities, as well as a local courier system; must possess or be able to acquire a good understanding of Mission’s organization, function, personnel, and practices of the agencies to which mail service is provided. Must be able to acquire familiarity with Embassy physical layout and locations of individual personnel.    5.  Must show ability to supervise and manage staff effectively. Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including ability to calmly handle customer complaints up to the Executive level. Strong computer skills, including typing skills and accurate data entry into web applications, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).     The U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Residential Security Technician, for the Regional Security Office.   Salary:  CLP 18,358,018 gross salary p.a.             Basic function of position: Performs technical duties in support of the Embassy Santiago Residential Security program to include alarm maintenance and the supervision of window security treatment projects conducted by contractors. Maintains the functionality of all technical aspects of RSO security devices and performs regular review and maintenance of these devices, such as electric fences, alarm keypads, alarm sensors, phone satellite backup devices, grilled window fire safety releases, panic buttons, CCTV camera networks, intercom systems, locks, both mechanical and digital, and roll down shutters. Serves as the first line quality control officer on job sites. Keeps inventory of over $500,000 worth of security products and devices and is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 120 property alarms. Responds to more than 1,000 annual alarm notifications for repair, retraining the resident or residential staff, or re-installment of security devices possessing errors. Some experience in welding, and experience in electrical components is required.   3.    Level II (Limited Knowledge) in writing/ speaking/ reading English is required. Level IV (Fluent) in writing/ speaking/ reading Spanish is required. (This will be tested.)   4.    Ability to read blueprints and schematic diagrams of electrical/mechanical drawings, and the ability to use electronic test equipment. Knowledge of full alarm installation and troubleshooting of security devices   5.     Physically be able to stand for long periods of time, climb, and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Must have excellent time management skills and be able to analyze issues associated with alarm systems and residential security equipment and resolve the issues in a timely manner.   6.    A valid current Chilean driving license is required and must be capable of being approved to drive a U.S. Embassy vehicle in the course of duties.
