Get Your Mojo Back: Sex, Pleasure and Intimacy After Birth Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 8 ratings

Get Your Mojo Back breaks the silence around the feminist topic no-one is talking about: how to have enjoyable sex after birth. This book is a rallying call to women to reclaim their sexuality and find sexual fulfilment. Focusing on the physical, mental and practical aspects that can affect your sexual experience and relationship, each chapter contains:
  • a personal experience to relate to;
  • tips on specific issues and their manifestations, including unfulfilling sex and numbness, painful postpartum sex, and finding time for intimacy in motherhood;
  • information from experts, including women’s health physios, an obstetrics doctor and gynaecology and a perinatal mental health psychologist.
Informative yet often hilarious, this guide from maternal health campaigner and journalist Clio Wood will appeal to new and existing mothers seeking to improve their sex lives and wellbeing after birth. It will also attract fans of feminist women's health books, including Period Power.

Product description

Review

"There is no book out there like this. Candid, funny and utterly eye-opening. Get Your Mojo Back digs deep on women's health and how to get your sex life back - quite literally from all angles. Just wish it had been written sooner." - Anna Whitehouse, Mother Pukka

"Clio boldly goes where no woman has gone before, into the postnatal bedroom, and she is both fearless and reassuring in her exploration of this neglected area of new parents' lives." -
Milli Hill, Author of Give Birth Like a Feminist

Excellent book that explains all the science bits about what happens to your body pre- and post-pregnancy in a really relatable, easy-to-understand way. It helps you understand that what is happening to you is happening to so many others - despite the fact that so much of this stuff is rarely spoken about. Clio is like a helpful friend guiding you through all the questions you wanted to ask about post-pregnancy and how to feel more like you again.

The information is super digestable and the personal examples really hit home. Would recommend to every post-birth woman I know!

An excellent blend of insight based on research, personal experience and contributions from people in the postnatal/sex-positive space. Written in a tone that is inclusive and accessible- a bit like having a talk with a knowledgeable friend.

My wife bought this book and I'm very grateful she did. We struggled a lot to to feel connected and intimate as a couple after three babies in quick succession, but Clio's advice really helped us find the fire we had in our relationship pre-kids. Thank you!

Informative and easy to read guide to postnatal intimacy - an often overlooked and hugely important topic. I appreciated Clio sharing her personal experience and enjoyed the input from experts. I’ve immersed myself in all things health and well-being after my babies were born and this is the first time I’ve found this topic covered so comprehensively. I enjoyed learning about new things and also the book bringing into the open topics not often discussed and shared.

I struggled to read this book, it was split up into lots of bits and seemed to take a long time to give any helpful advice
Thank you Netgalley and penguin for this ARC copy to review
