Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Dimethyl sulfoxide in which all isotopes of hydrogen 1H (Protium) are replaced by 2H (Deuterium), is used for the analysis of substances by the NMR method. This substance has a melting point of 20 degrees Celsius and crystallizes from a liquid state just in a cold room. Crystallization begins at the glass surface because of releasing of heat from there to the environment. During the crystallization process of the impurity solution, the purest colorless dimethyl sulfoxide crystallizes first. In the center of the flask, a liquid solution of a pink-colored impurity is concentrated, which also crystallizes.
